The President of Castilla-La Mancha, Mª Dolores de Cospedal, was accompanied in her visit on the past April 13th by the Minister of Agriculture Mª Luisa Soriano, as well as by diverse provincial authorities, the Deputy Government Representative, Angel Mariscal, the Deputy of the Regional Government in Cuenca, Rogelio Pardo and the President of the Provincial Government of Cuenca, Benjamín Prieto. 

 

The President visited the winery’s different facilities, stopping every so often to ask questions about its operation, as was the case at the bottling plant. This also took place in the laboratory, where the method of analysis was explained to her, as well as how the grapes are classified when they reach the winery and she also took interest in all of our different “VEGA MORAGONA” red and white wine varieties. She then continued with a tour of our barrel hall, where our wines of the highest quality rests and she also took the time to write a dedication on one of the barrels in which we produce our “Top” wine, obtained from one of our oldest vines that dates from 1940, from which part of the harvest has been selected, destemmed and fermented in the barrel itself in order to produce our highest quality wine. 

 

In the midst of our barrels Mª Dolores de Cospedal also met with the media, discussing a variety of matters and highlighting “the magnificent wines of Castilla-La Mancha and, in this case, the wines of the province of Cuenca with Ribera del Júcar Protected Designation of Origin special selected wines, with projects aimed at taking our products to the foreign market.” 

 

She also affirmed that "Castilla-La Mancha has managed to obtain 30 million Euros more than those obtained by the previous government, the same aimed at helping in the transformation of the vineyard, which is assessed in 75.8 million Euros.” Finishing the visit, the President of the Cooperative, Alejandro Perona, expressed his appreciation to the President for her visit to our facilities, wishing her the best of luck in her new undertaking in the Community.
