Vista del Stand
Presence of the Ribera del Júcar Protected Designation of Origin at Fenavin is simply a must.
Contacts with potential clients from countries such as Japan, China, Russia, Mexico, Germany and India are already underway.
Following the Ribera del Júcar Protected Designation of Origin’s (P.D.O) visit to the National Trade Fair on Wine (FENAVIN), which took place in Ciudad Real from May 10th to the 12th, the moment has now come to take stock and evaluate if the pursued objectives have indeed been achieved.
Javier Prósper, President of the P.D.O. has commented that their visit to the trade fair has been a very positive one, “FENAVIN is a dynamic trade fair that is overflowing with activity; we no longer even think about it, as we are more than aware of how important it is to participate in the trade fair. The trade fair represents a mandatory date for us, logically because of the many national wineries that come together, but also because the contacts and clients that can be made at the stand are not just from Spain, as they are in fact coming in from many different countries.”
Prósper adds, “we have been participating at FENAVIN as of the very first year in which we were constituted, in 2003, and the truth of the matter is that each and every edition of the trade fair has borne its fruits for us; this encounter gives rise to many contacts, commercial relationships and an excellent rapport is created with possible clients and with other wineries. Even more so, FENAVIN is a showcase for us where we can prove that we can indeed compete with other Designations of Origin that enjoy much prestige and with long-standing wineries, even despite the fact that our denomination has just been recently created and as yet we still have few resources.”
The Ribera del Júcar Protected Designation of Origin has participated at Fenavin with its brands Casa de Illana, Casa Gualda, 5 Almudes, Vega Moragona and Teatinos, and this edition has not only served to reinforce relationships with our more consolidated clients, but it has also allowed us to make new contacts, “as it is equally important for us to strengthen ties with our clients as it is to establish new relationships,” Javier Prósper affirmed, to then add that at FENAVIN they have been able to start conversations with potential clients from countries such as Japan, China, Russia, Mexico, Germany and India, “as all of them have visited our stand and shown interest in the quality of our wines.” In fact, as of its very beginnings FENAVIN has always been specialized in foreign trade, in international projection that will allow the Spanish wine offer to be present on the most important markets.
The starring role of the website and institutional support
The wager that the Ribera del Júcar has made at FENAVIN also includes new technologies, as the designation’s new website (www.vinosriberadeljucar.com) has held a starring role at the trade fair, “promoting our Internet portal has also been very important for us, as it represents a very useful information tool that covers all our activities, wineries, wines and work methods,” Prósper underlined.
The President of the Ribera del Júcar Protected Designation of Origin also thanked the Minister of Agriculture for Castilla-La Mancha, José Luis Martínez Guijarro, the Director General for Rural Development, Ana Isabel Parras and the Director of the IVICAM (Institute of the Vine and Wine), Alipio Lara, for their visit to the Ribera del Júcar Protected Designation of Origin’s stand, “support from the regional administration is always positive, reason why I must thank them all for their institutional support to our stand.”
